The Founder
Othello Clark has been a driving force in the Aspen skate scene since the very beginning. In 1999, before Aspen even had a skatepark, Othello launched the original Aspen Skateboard Camp, taking eager campers by bus to the only park around, a legendary spot in Carbondale built by the Laybourne family. When the Aspen Skatepark was built in 2000, Othello played a key role in its construction, helping create a home for a new generation of skaters. Over the next decade, he taught thousands of kids from all over the world not just how to skate, but how to carry life lessons from the board to everyday life. After years of success with group camps, Othello shifted focus to private coaching across the U.S. and worked on several skateboarding-focused TV projects. Now, after 15 years, he’s bringing his experience, passion, and love for skateboarding back home to Aspen with O.G. Skate Camp.
